What is HCG? HCG is short for human chorionic gonadotrophin. This is a hormone that women produce when they are pregnant. The purpose of the horomone is to mobilize fat so the body can change it into blood sugar and feed the fetus 24 hours a day.

How does the HCG diet work?

The diet was put together in the 1950-60s with 20 years of research by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, MD. While fat is converted into blood sugar and used as energy, Dr. Simeons' research showed that the body needed additional proteins. He found that a 500 calorie high protien diet would help in the process of losing weight while using HCG to convert fat for fuel. HCG is most commonly injected into the body. In some areas of the USA, the cost can be as much as $600 to $1200. for the 6 week diet.

How long is the diet followed? 

The diet is generally followed for 6 weeks. If you have more to lose, you go off the diet and HCG for a month to 6 weeks before starting up again for another 6 weeks. You repeat as many cycles as you want until you get to the desired  weight. With the homeopathic HCG, many people will go up to 8 or 9 weeks before taking a break for a few days or a week. We've had clients go as long as 90 days straight and losing 100 pounds.

Prescipton HCG vs Homeopathic HCG 

1. Cost of homeopathic HCG is a lot less than the presctiption HCG.
2. With presciption HCG, you take shots. With Homeopathic HCG, it's sublingual - under the tongue.
3. With prescripton HCG, you can only use it once a day. If you run out of the hormone, your blood sugar drops and you get hungry. When you get hungry long enough, you cheat and then don't lose the weight. With homeopathic HCG, you use it a minimum of 3 times a day plus anytime during the day you get hungry. This continues to bring up your blood sugar levels so you aren't hungry. You're not hungry - you don't have that tendency to cheat.
